2 Days Gorilla Trekking Rwanda Full Itinerary
Day 1: Leave Kigali City to Volcanoes National Park (2.5 Hours)
2 days gorilla trekking Rwanda excursion will start from Kigali, Rwanda’s capital. A driver guide from Access Car Rentals will warmly receive you at the airport. After a review and briefing about the excursion before heading out on a 2.5 hours journey drive to Musanze (alias Ruhengeri). For those already in Kigali, you will be fetched from your hotel or residence then set off to Musanze.
You will enjoy the great scenic picturesque journey of about 2 and a half hours with stopovers along the way to give you a real Rwandan safari experience.
Upon arrival in the afternoon, you will check-in at the lodge, have lunch and later embark on a canoe ride along River Mukugwa or choose to visit the gorilla guardians village to have a fantastic evening.

Day 2: Rwanda Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Today you will be up early as 6:30am, have breakfast and then transfer to the national park headquarters to have a pre-gorilla trekking briefing. Park rangers will divide you into equal groups of 8 persons and be allocated a specific gorilla group to track for the day. Gorilla Trekking begins at about 8:30 am as the guides will lead you into the jungles to search for these gentle giants.
On meeting the gorillas, you will be allowed to be with them for one hour and then be guided as you descend back to the lodge for other engagements on the trip menu. If time allows, you may decide to go for a cultural performance in Ibyi’wacu village or take a forest nature walk.
You will transfer back to Kigali in the evening. Depending on your flight arrangements, you will be transferred to the airport.

How to Enjoy Gorilla trekking
– Warm clothing is advised especially the evenings and morning are chilly.
– Bring water along on your trek, eating, drinking and smoking near the gorillas is forbidden – designated time and place will be communicated by your ranger guide.
– Photography is permitted, although you must not use flash.
– Porters are available to help you carry your day pack for a small charge.
– Mountain gorillas live at high altitude and this may cause difficulties for some visitors.
– You should pace yourself, walk slowly and drink plenty of water.
